running and high heels

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am not sleeved quite yet (hopefully beginning of year).

I am really looking forward to wearing high heels. I really have always been overwieght and never mastered that. Are heels a lot different after losing weight. I want to wear a belt at least once also.

Also, in the past , on many unsuccessful diets, I would try jogging. I was miserable at it and never could go more than 15-30 seconds at a time, without almost dying. It has never felt like I have imagined it, I can not wait.

Can anyone tell me how it feels to do these two things now? I have so many NSV's that I am looking forward to experiencing.

What NSV's are/or were all of you looking forward to?

Thank you. B)

I don't think that I had worn a belt since I was in my 30's (I am 57 now) but just a couple of weeks ago I put on a pair of freaking size six pants (a milestone in itself!) with a belt and a tucked in blouse and went out with hubby to run errands. We almost immediately ran into a couple friends and I was bursting with pride at my new waistline! Now I am ready to go on a shopping spree for belts! No more elastic waists and oversized sweaters!

The high heels part has not really been a goal of mine. I am more of a flats or low heel kinds of girl but recently I was in the shoe store and saw the cutest pair of boots with serious heels and I thought...what the heck, try them on....you'd don't have to buy them. They looked so good and were really comfortable so of course I bought them. I have worn them two or three times now so it does have me thinking about looking at other high heels!

Congratulations on your decision to have the surgery...you will love the results!

I have tried the running thing but I have really bad knees and can't so I do a power walk. You do what you can lol. The heels well let me say it makes it a hell of alot easier to wear them when you don't have the excess weight on the balls of your feet.

Good luck on your journey! You will do great!

YES heels work so much more easily now! I'm not a runner, so I can't comment on that, but even at 6'2", I've always, ALWAYS wanted to wear cute high heels, and now I do!!! It's actually a blast--clothes in general are so much easier to work with, and shoes--let's just say my husband just rolls his eyes when another package comes in the mail. I don't spend much on food any more--that's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL

Girl, I know exactly how you feel. I have not had surgery yet and won't be probably until the beginning of the year as well. Let me tell you, I cannot wait to wear heels! There are so many things that I look forward to once all of this weight has gone away.

Girl, believe me, if I could share a couple of inches, I'd do it. Both parents are tall (6'6" and 6'1/2"), and I've been this height since 7th grade. I was a LOT thinner then, of course.

I hadn't worn a pair of heels in over 3 years. Now, I've got them back, and some of my mojo too!

I am not a runner by nature, but I CAN run ...I chose a treadmill setting that has varying speeds and inclines and some of the higher speeds force me to run-jog. I get most of my exercise from my treadmill, rec center classes, Water aerobics, bike riding and my 5x a week habit of Curves.

Now the heels, I was never much for them either because it's hard enough to carry around an extra 100+ lbs let alone stick those extra lbs up on heels. But I have a few pairs that I'm wearing a LOT lately. One pair I found for $6 at Goodwill and they were hardly used at all. They make me very tall (I'm alreay 5'6" so when I add 3 inch heels look out!) but anytime I EVER wear them people comment on how great I look...hard to disagree that the heels help your overall shape...tall and slender! ;)

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
