VSGme 4 Posted October 17, 2011 Hello everyone!! I am so happy that I found this forum!! I've not really told anyone (except my parents) about my decision to go forward with weight loss surgery, so I've been feeling a little lonely lately. My surgery is scheduled for Nov. 15 with Dr. Stowers in Decatur, TX, and I am so very excited!! I am self paying, and I just finalized the loan paperwork yesterday at the bank. Just wanted to say hi, and I'm looking forward to reading your stories and sharing mine

Knee2010 54 Posted October 19, 2011 Elise, you bet we can be sleeve sisters! Congrats on your date. The bigger (or should I say "smaller" lol) the sleeve sister family is the better!!! We will have to make sure and check in on each other thru this journey to help each of us get to our goal weight and goal health.
VSGme 4 Posted November 1, 2011 I'm starting to get very nervous as the date gets closer. I think its because this is my very first surgery ever... I'm also starting to feel guilty. I'm spending a lot of money to have this surgery, and I keep thinking of all the other things I could have spent the money on... Ugh...
BenisaMartim4 369 Posted November 1, 2011 Don't feel guilty. You spent the money to have a better quality and quantity of life. You wouldn't feel bad about paying for open heart surgery. This surgery should save you the money on that one :0)

This surgery should save you the money on that one :0) You are absolutely right!! I haven't really thought of it that way!! I was worried about all the things I could have gotten for my daughter or places we could have gone, but all of that means nothing if I'm not here to enjoy those things with her, or can't participate because of my weight. Thank you!! I feel a little silly now lol... This has been such a rollercoaster emotionally!! But, I only have 15 more days until my new birthday!! Thank you again girl!!
