xelapaul 0 Posted July 20, 2006 Does anyone know what time length is the soulder pain (from co2) considered normal??? It seems to get worse when I am walking...to the point of where it is hard to take a deep breath:faint: . I am 3 days post op and have been very bloated and hurting inside my chest but not my shoulder...I started walking and boom the shoulder pain started. Is this normal??? I go back to wark on sunday and I use my left hand exclusively to work (i am a cardiac sonographer) I hope it will subside soon thanks for any input alex
FunnyDuddies 6 Posted July 20, 2006 Some people have it last up to two weeks. the more you walk the quicker it wil go away, trust me. it is refered pain from the diaphram. try taking some gas-x chewables or strips to help with the gas as well.
xelapaul 0 Posted July 20, 2006 dear funny duddies thank you for the info, i can't wait to meet you (we also are booked for the 2007 cruise) you sound like so much fun!!! how are you feeling with your new band?? is there a difference b/n lapband and inamed vg band? alex
FunnyDuddies 6 Posted July 20, 2006 Inamed is a maker of the lapband. there are about 3 or 4 makers of the lapband. The Vanguard is one type and size of the band that Inamed makes. It is just a description of the particular band that I have. I am doing good so far with the band. I am open, so I can eat more than I'd like, but I am scheduled for my first fill in about 3 weeks. I have a chest cold so it makes my diaphram a little inflamed, which is bringing back the shoulder and neck pain with deep breaths. I look forward to meeting you too, and everyone else on the cruise. I love cruises!!

LapBandit 5 Posted July 21, 2006 I also had terrible shoulder pain after surgery. It took about a week before it was manageable and about two weeks before it went away. I know it's rough but try a hot water bottle on your shoulder. The warmth and weight seemed to help me. I also used chewable gas x. Other than walking around as much as possible and the two other suggestions the only other thing that helped me was time. Sorry, it will go away you just have to hang in there. papaya 0 Posted July 23, 2006 I was banded July 17, 2006 and have a lot of bloating and severe shoulder pain as well. Nice to hear it eventually goes away. How about the bloating? I am 63, I would guess that does not help! The bloating gets worse whenever I take in any liquid and I simply don't want to drink anything because of it. There also seems to be an aftertaste in my mouth that is quite unpleasant. Any tips out there from all you banded folk.
