CT Fats 82 Posted October 14, 2011 Hi Guys With my surgery in less than two weeks, I guess all my nerves and anxiety have manifested themselves as a severe case of hypochondria. I am scared I have EVERYTHING and it will be discovered in the middle of my surgery forcing them to cancel it. I have had all the blood tests and liver function tests and they all came back normal. Im just convinced that something is wrong with my liver (all that college drinking) or something. Somebody help me out and tell me im being an idiot. If I had some kind of liver problem it would have showed up on the liver function test right?
FishingNurse 1,211 Posted October 14, 2011 As a nurse I can get a little carried away with worry as well- I know too much for my own good sometimes. I see a lot of sick people. I asked my surgeon the same thing! My surgeon said only once did he perform a surgery where he found a cirrhosed liver when all the blood tests were normal. Try to relax! Worrying gets you nowhere, hope for the best.
Raine 170 Posted October 14, 2011 You're an idiot! hahah just teasing!!! LOL We love ya! Everyone has these worries pre op. I know I did, I thought all my labs would be a mess and I wouldn't be able to have it either. They were only 1/2 a mess and I still had the surgery.
