I was sleeved 10-3-11 and other than walking the halls of the hospital, I wondered if you would mind sharing what type of exercises or program you did post-op and when you started, how long etc. Thanks!

I mostly walked. Went from just a few minutes a day to 3 miles. I tried to walk atleast 3 days a week mostly 5 days. When I got to 6 weeks out I tried running. But to be completly honestly I didnt do much else.

Starting with week 3, I went back to gym. First week was slow, 1/2 at best could only walk on treadmill for 10 minutes. By week 4, I I alwas back up to an hour. First four weeks of working out I sweated profusely. Now at 8 weeks I have a normal 1 1/2 hour workout of 30 minutes running on treadmill and 1 hour with trainer doing resistance, weight, training.

I have used a trainer for last couple of years, she has other clients who had surgery and is good at helping me regain lost strength. The quick weight loss affected muscle as well as fat. I am at end of week 10 today and almost back to strength level that I was at preop.

I also play tennis at least once a week.

Was sleeved 8/23. At first I didn't do anything but walking & a few different stretches. At the end of 3 weeks my doctor told me I could go back to the gym & do whatever I felt like I could handle on the bike or elliptical but he told me to take it easy on the weights - if I couldn't do 30 reps then the weight was too high. The next week I went up in weight & down to 20 reps & now I am back to my regular routine (3 days lifting to build muscle & 2 days to burn fat + 9-12 mile/day on a bike). Crunches were a little hard at first but didn't have any issues with anything else.

I was restricted from anything but walking for the first month. I started by walking about 10 minutes after each meal, totaling about 30 minutes a day. I increased it as I could, at this point 9 weeks out I am walking/jogging 3 miles, 3 times a week and taking a strength fitness class 2-3 times a week.

I started walking at least 20 minutes a few times a week about ! Week after surgery. Now at 4 weeks I can do a 45 min cardio workout and also started strength training this week. I plan on starting a yoga class and bootcamp in the next few weeks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
