Foods that make you FULL

Recommended Posts

Besides meat I was wondering what foods really fill people up quickly. I would like to lose a little bit quicker while my sleeve(aka my Portion Control pouch) is relatively new. I am just over two months out and lose about a pound or so a week. While I am perfectly fine with this, I wondered if people could share the types of foods, besides meat that really give you that full feeling. Maybe that will help me to lose a little bit more during the honeymoon phase. Thanks :)

I've found that any of the dense Proteins fill me up quickly including chicken, chicken burgers, deli lunchmeat, etc. I also buy reduced-fat block cheese and slice it up . . . that also fills me up. eggs are really filling - I have one every morning with a piece of bacon or turkey sausage and often I can't finish all of it.

Many veggies fill me right up quick and the good thing is they are chock full of Vitamins and fiber! Broccoli, cauliflower and aspargus are REALLY filling. :) cheese is also a good one. I can eat an ounce of it and feel content for a good long time. It's a really good snack. Good luck!

If you're not talking meat or eggs, then cottage cheese is my go-to food for a filling Protein meal. You can put salt and pepper and even a little hot sauce in it if you want it savory and to use as a dip..., or applesauce and cinnamon and splenda (or any other fruit) if you want it sweet. I love that it is versatile that way...and very filling and nutritious.

At nearly 16mths out, I still find two small poached eggs on a piece of wholemeal or multi grain toast REALLY filling... not sure if that helps?

I also agree with Diva, green veggies are filling too... I love mange tout and aspargus ... but I also enjoy lightly fried - with soya sauce and olive oil - red onions! These really compliment any meats and fish and really do leave me feeling satisfied for a long time.

Good luck!

Low fat cheese sticks (at 6 months I also have 1/4 apple, and a few whole grain crackers)

Greek Yogurt (at 6 months I also have1/2 slice whole wheat bread and 1/3 banana)

Andersons Split Pea Soup (at 6 months I also have 1/4 apple)

Soy Milk, vanilla Protein powder, a little pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice (yum! - now that I get my Protein from food I sometimes have this sans Protein Powder - 8 grams of protein for the soy milk)

Beans (any kind, I have a pot of Great Northern Beans on the stove right now! - I enjoy them with fresh spinach or kale now)

At two months out, I could only fit protein and a bite of vegetable or non-acidic fruit (melon is good) - no room for starches.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
