Pain between incisions?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone :) So I am three weeks out today. For the last two weeks I had very minimal pain and then none what-so-ever. But yesterday the area between my incisions kept twinging a little bit. Not really painful but enough to say "hey i'm here". Today at work (i'm on my feet all day) it was just about constant and at times a bit sharp. It goes away for the most part if I put some pressure on it. It isn't horrible, just uncomfortable.

Any ideas as to what this is?

Thanks!

I know the main incision was a bit knotted for 5 weeks or so but not really painful versus annoying. If pain is consistent you should consult your doctor.

I'm 3 weeks out and have had the same thing. If I applied pressure to the area it would go away. My pain was right in the middle...closest to my belly button on the right. I had some scar tissue and that was the area that it was removed from.

I saw the surgeon, he said it was scar tissue around the internal stitch and that I probably did something that bruised it. So for now I just deal with it (though he gave me the okay to take advil) and then if it gets any worse or continues for more than a week I need to go in again. But at least it isn't anything serious. It does hurt a lot, even worse then when I first got out of the hospital (it is different, more sharp and it burns :/ ).

Thanks for all the help everyone :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
