+change 5 Posted October 10, 2011 so i am a newbe, and need to ask a question. are we not supose to be on a Pre-Op diet all along? i have to complete 6 months of classes for my insurance, so am i supose to start liquids now? I was on Weight Watchers for 6 mos & now on liquids the last week before surgery but each doctor (& ins co) has their own requirements. Start exercising & chewing slowly now:) Good luck, Jan
Felicia 28 Posted October 11, 2011 My doc has started me on the liquid diet and I still don't have a surgery date. They told me that starting it now before they send in the insurance is a good thing in case the insurance denies me and wants me on a supervised diet. It's very hard being on the liquid diet with no surgery date. It's hard doing all of this and not even having a finish line or a date set or anything. You should call and ask what they think. The way I am thinking is whether I get the surgery or not at least by losing this initial weight I am that much closer to my goal weight.

SmokyMtnGal2011 10 Posted October 11, 2011 I am on the 2 wk of the liquid pre op diet, Oct 19th is the beginning of my new life. I had to do the 6 month supervised diet for Insurance too. I started training myself then to eat slow, don't drink during meals and watch what I ate. The Liquid pre op is not as bad as I thought. Only "tummy-growling- hungry" a couple of times. Good luck to you in your Quest for a healthier you.

Katie713 423 Posted October 11, 2011 What is the pre-op liquid diet if you don't mind me asking? I have 10 weeks left of pre-op education before even seeing the surgeon.
