Shakes before surgery

Hello I am scheduled for sugery on Oct. 19th just wandering if the shake diet has to be followed exactly, im Having a little trouble with my sugar and was wandering if I altered the shakes a bit would it effect my surgery.

I got banana flavor from Bariatric Advantage n it has 7g of carbs in it already. Is that what most people did??

I would definitely call your doctor about that. They want your glucose steady but it could effect the size of your liver for surgery.

Each surgeon is different and it would be best if you called their office to see what you need to do to lower the sugar/carb content of the shake. I to adjust as I am allergric to aspartime (nutri-sweet) so I had to get with the dietician for alternatives. Definitely call the doc.
