Carrie T 14 Posted October 7, 2011 I am 3 months out from my surgery, but am already feeling anxious about all the Vitamins that we need to take. Currently, anytime I take a multi Vitamin it has to be with a meal or I will get sick to my stomach. Any recommendations on how I can take all of these vitamins when I'm supposed to be on basically a liquid diet for 2-4 weeks post op? Thanks for any advice you might have! Thomas CPA 496 Posted October 7, 2011 Try taking with something other than Water like juice or milk. Second option, see about getting liquid vitamins. Even after surgery on liquid diet you can take regular Vitamins. Some people get gummy vitamins. I think last resort is to get a mortar and pedestal and crush the pills then put into applesauce or mix with water.
Kimberlina 18 Posted October 7, 2011 I was having problems with the same exact thing. I just went to costco and bought their Gummy Vitamins. They are AWESOME. They even taste just like gummy bears. i would suggest to give them a shot, they haven't made my stomach hurt at all! Kim-
LeahG 16 Posted October 7, 2011 I was taking Flintstones Complete for the first 2 months out from surgery and had no trouble tolerating them at all... then I ran out and tried taking the bariatric formula samples I recieved in the mail and also a regular women's one a day and they both made me very nauseous. I think I may be going back to the Flintstones!
sleevesearch 14 Posted October 8, 2011 Over a year out and I'm still eating a chewable multi, but I can swallow my D, Krill, potassium and my thyroid med. I swallow them in stages so I won't get nauseous.
