LOL 2 boobs on legs.:)

One of the participants had a family member who had GB also and said, I think it was their mother, had lost a lot of weigh fast and has gained a lot of it back. My sister did that but now she is on the losing side again. I think my sister had her surgery about 4 or 5 years ago. Weight loss is not easy no matter who you are or what route you take. Because if it was we would all be 2 boobs on legs.....sorry dezadoo.:laugh

I have watched all of the CFC seasons and I think this one will be the best. I am glad that Carnie is out front showing that WLS is not always the easy route. Angie Stone sounds like she has a lot of excuses for why she is her size. I think she will be the big whiner of this season. The Baywatch beauty...I didn't recognize her at all (that could be that I never watched baywatch though, lol).

I haven't ever watched the show but I might have to tune in next week and see what I've been missing.

Has everyone on this season had WLS? I know Carnie Wilson has, and I know the guy from the Soprano's has (can't think of his name right now), but . . .

Seems like the people on the show who have had WLS would have a major advantage over the others. Even if Carnie can eat more than she did following her surgery, she'd still lose more weight than the Soprano's guy (wish I could think of his name) because she has malabsorption with her surgery and he doesn't. Not sure how this works on the show. I guess I'll have to watch it and find out! lol

Is there a prize for the biggest loser? Besides that they lost the most! lol

The guy from the sopranos, I know him as "Big Pus" had triple bypass surgery for his heart not gastric bypass.

This season's contestants include:

Bone Crusher, Rapper

Ted Lange, Actor, bartender Isaac on TV's The Love Boat

Angie Stone, R&B Singer

Vincent Pastore, Actor most widely known for Big Pussy on Sopranos

Erika Eleniak, Playboy model, Baywatch

Carnie Wilson, singer Wilson Phillips

Nick Turturro, Actor, NYPD Blue

Tina Yothers, Actress, Family Ties

Even though mal absorptions is a factor, It must not account for too much if you can gain all of your weight back. She is still going to have to be the one to have Portion Control and exercise. She must have stopped exercising. They will probably do her blood work also to be sure she is not just starving herself.

The team who loses the most get gifts. They also win exercise equpiment, spa visits and so on throughout the show.

I watched the first show on a rerun and I'm hooked! And I agree... Angie Stone looks to be the whiner with excuses. I mean, I understand the fact that she gained weight due to medicine, but she seems to blame it ALL on that. I could do the same thing and say the entire 30 pounds I put on in the past 3 years was due to Depo and not my eating....but I would be LYING.

So... when do the new shows come on VH1?

Actor Joseph Gannascoli, who plays gay mobster Vito Spatafore on "The Sopranos", is the one who had lap band surgery.

I don't think so. I checked are there are no scheduled airings. The V-spot on Vh1.com usually has clips or whole shows from the past. Check there.

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
