I was sleeved by Dr. Aceves July 12. The hotel we stayed at Crown Royal, OMG had the best rib eye tacos and quacamole!! Also there is a train resturant right across the street and down a little on the right that also has really good food. Nina or someone on Dr. Aceves' team will tell you exactly where it is safe to walk and where they have good food!

I think I had the chicken breast, bacon wrapped or something like that. I mostly remember having the tortilla chips though, thinking I wouldn't have any for a LONG time. The Hotel food is really good, and it did not make me ill, I'm sure you'd be ok to eat there.

Me and my sleeve sisters all went to the Colorado Room at the Crowne Plaza. The food was amazing. I had the mexican special or something like that. It was so good, had tacos, quesadilla, steak sooo good! Prices were not bad either.

We ate at the hotel restaurant; it was really good food & good prices. My hubby accompanied me and for his meals out he went to the little train restaurant near the hospital, and a chinese restaurant near the hospital. DH said he liked the train restaurant a lot, and felt like he was cheating because the food was so great and prices so low. He said the chinese restaurant was very average at best, but the train one was really great.

Post surgery be careful of tortillas. You shouldn't have the corn and the flour is like untoasted bread that your stomach may not tolerate. The first time I tried the flour I was lucky to be sitting near the restroom when it came back up.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
