slp98 0 Posted October 5, 2011 Hello- I'm so glad I found this site! I had vsg surgery last Thursday and am still trying to fully recover. I guess I fooled myself into thinking a had a really high tolerance for pain/nausea, and assumed I'd be that one person who had surgery at 7:30 am and would be out of there without spending the night...I ended up in there for 2 nights. Things are slowly getting better but I am thirsty and have to constantly fight the urge to take large sips of Water. My surgeon was Dr. William Johnson @ Emory Johns Creek Hospital (in Atlanta suburbs) - not the closest hospital but everyone I talked to said he was wonderful. He's optimistic, exceptionally kind, and seems very knowledgeable and skilled. I've never thought this would be easy but I really think I can make a lot of great progress. I'm going to walk on the treadmill tomorrow morning and get back into a routine. Does anyone recommend a particular "off-the-shelf" plain Protein Powder that I could use to mix with yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.? Thanks for any advice you can provide! lonnielou2 2 Posted October 5, 2011 My doctor recommended beneprotein. It is tasteless, and can mix with anything. I ordered it from drugstore.com
hirskobrn 0 Posted October 5, 2011 I got the unflavored Protein powder from GNC. It's their brand and I think it's pretty good. Not a lot of taste. Unfortunately I'm not sure if there is a protein that is completely tasteless. I also have the Unjury brand but you have to order that on line.
geminhi 0 Posted October 9, 2011 I like Isopure flavorless or flavored because it dissolves easily...
