adrienneb86 0 Posted October 4, 2011 So I am 25 and will be having the surgery in February. A friend of mine had the surgery in MArch and he is 45. He looks ok its just he has real bad saggy skin. He has lost 140 lbs. My concern is I will have bad saggy skin too, but Im 20 yrs younger than him. Do you think AGE has anything to do with your skin hanging? I know its a retarded question but I am really worried about this....
minniekitty 44 Posted October 11, 2011 I think age will help us, since our skin has better elasticity. We are still likely to have some saggy skin, though, if we have a lot of fat rolls and fat that hangs. I'm pretty sure at the very least I will have saggy skin on my stomach because I have a paunch. wishes 125 Posted October 11, 2011 I honestly think it depends on the quality of your skin now. I know for me personally I have TONS of stretch marks. I really look like I had twins or something. My entire upper body is a zig zag of what my body has been through and you can't get rid of stretch marks.
Jolie_KeMi 345 Posted October 16, 2011 I think youth is in our favor. We just have to make sure to drink plenty of Water and keep our skin moisturized. I had my son in 2010, so I know allllll about the stretch marks!! My main aesthetic goal is to just look good with clothes on & worry about clothes off later. LOL! 1 Half~of~Bri reacted to this

I can't wait to just be able to fit into average sized clothes and not have to worry about seeing if i can find a size 42 pair of shorts at American Eagle and not have to go home to order them online because nobody carries them in my size in store! I really think we have our age on our side! I plan on drinking good amounts of water, I like lotion anyway because I can't stand to feel DRY, and I am definitely going to be working out! I have 105lb to lose to be at a good healthy weight where I don't think i'll look too skinny and thankfully most of my excess weight is my stomach and i have man boobs lol...my thighs & upper arms can just use some exercise and they will be good to go thankfully! And my butt, well it's gonna get lots of exercise b/c it's gonna be a big bubble once i'm finished working out! lol Good luck everyone! 1 Jolie_KeMi reacted to this

I am 27 and HOPING that youth is on my side however.. i read on another discussion board, posted by a personal trainer, that if you start weight training before surgery and continue weight training afterward (just doing free weights, not necessarily cardio) that your skill will bounce back nicely. Also of course Water Water water and i also read that exfoliating your skin helps with that too. Here is a website with some tutorials for strengh training and pin-pointing certain areas! I am starting on this TODAY! www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/
nyxa 159 Posted August 22, 2012 there's a guy who lost all his weight naturally, with raw food (vegan).. he doesn't have any loose skin. he was 400 pounds & is now normal.. his secret-- besides raw food.. was that he skin brushed, which helps remove dead skin & help new skin growth.. as well as taking MSM (which is a sulfur compound made from rain Water & is natural)- it's used to lubricate joints and also helps soften skin. and he ate a lot of foods high in collagen.. like berries.. blueberries have a lot of collagen in them.. and they're also low carb.. you can find him on youtube --- http://www.youtube.com/user/lovingraw << he has a video about saggy skin.. one thing i liked about that video was that he said something like "if you're 400 lb and you're worried about having saggy skin, your head isn't in the right place.. you should be more focused on being alive and living.. worry about the skin later, when you know you're going to be alive." lol that was me paraphrasing, not his exact words. he was a lot more eloquent. lol this guy was on the show "the doctors" as well.. here's the skin video that he did:
ashleyxx 277 Posted September 3, 2012 I've been meaning to start skin brushing, I bought a brush a few months ago and have done it a couple of times but I need to make it a habit, Im bad when it comes to that! My upper arms were saggy way before surgery or weight loss, I've been lifting weights hoping I can fill some of it up with muscle but I will most likely need a arm lift. I've noticed recently my thighs seem alot more loose, I dont think I will ever be wearing booty shorts so its not that big of a concern for me, Im mostly concerned about my arms and tummy! Oh yeah and my boobs, but I gave up on them along time ago lmao

nyxa 159 Posted September 4, 2012 here's an exercise routine that's by a personal trainer & fitness guru.. supposed to give you a body like jessica simpson or jaime pressly. -- toned arms/legs, nice butt, small waist.. not too bulky/muscular. hope it helps http://www.t-nation.com/readArticle.do?id=1305014 it has a lot of other technical information in it.. which is worth the read, but if you don't have time or don't want to, just skip to the bottom. 1 simply.torri reacted to this
crystalny 12 Posted September 27, 2012 I too am worried about loose skin and I am trying my best to prevent it. I have been working out doing cardio and weight training in every workout targeting all my problem areas. I am 22 years old and I am really hoping that age is on my side. My skin has always been fairly tight and I haven't been one of those overweight people with jiggly legs and stuff, so I'm hoping that helps. Also, I have been drinking a lot of Water and moisturizing my skin. I will start exfoliating and dry brushing as well. Good luck to us all!
