NikiS 31 Posted October 4, 2011 I'm moving into my mushy/soft foods stage and I don't remember my doctor mentioning anything about fruit. I'm pretty sure citrus is out of the question and apples may be too hard but what about the softer fruits like grapes or bananas. I'm wondering if those would be ok. I'll call to ask my doctor but I was just curious if anyone has had any soft fruit(s) during this stage and how did your new stomach handle it.
bosslady 1 Posted October 4, 2011 At the soft food stage, all I could have was bananas and canned fruits (peaches, pears). Raw fruits and vegetables weren't allowed until I started my regular diet.
lsereno 2,525 Posted October 4, 2011 I had melon, strawberries, and mango during my soft food stage. Also tried a few bites of fresh peach and nectarine. My program's equivilant to the mushie stage (weeks 3-6), allowed all soft fruits, skin removed. Lynda
Thomas CPA 496 Posted October 4, 2011 Started regular fruits at week three, nectarines, apples, etc. Had to peel the fruits and stay away from things with seeds until allowed. Typically put half banana into Protein Shake to add some flavor.
kellyw74 258 Posted October 4, 2011 I could have banana, watermelon, cantalope, and soft canned fruit in lite Syrup week 4. No skins of any type until week 8. I ate my first apple at that time and it was heaven!! I did eat some grapes at week 5, but just sucked the juice out and spit the skins in the trash.
