Food Grinders

Recommended Posts

Getting banded in August. I was wondering if anyone is or has used a food grinder during the mushies or latter stages. Looks there are three types:

1. food processors (big, electric and expensive)

2. Hand operated Baby food Grinders - like Kidco Baby Food Mill

3. Battery or cord operated

Also, just say this one:

Zojirushi CB-AA10WB Battery Operated Handheld Gourmet Grinder

Anyone using one of these. Are they worth the cost and effort? Seems like a good thing to me. Thanks, in advance, Drifter.

This is a kitchenaide 3 cup mini chopper that has made a big difference for me. I never owned a chopper before but I use it two or three times a day now. It makes small enough amts that I don't have to throw food away.

My latest was chicken salad from leftover baked chicken. Put an egg white from a boiled egg. Mustard for a little flavor, mayo and some cajun seasoning.

I love this mini chopper.

I would love to know too. And if you do what all do you put in it. I did just order a Kitchenaid food Processer as well. Im hoping it will help me.

I am glad you asked this question. I have been wondering what to buy. I am thinking about a hand blender. The Braun Multiquick Hand Blender from Wal -Mart.

I bought a magic bullet. You can make shakes, blend frozen fruit into "sorbet". I've used for chicken sands, and so much more. easy clean up and I find it great because I find I have to make differnet foods then my children eat. Easy for self serve, single serve

I've had a Bamix hand mixer for many years now. It's small, easy to use and I've found it much more powerful than the Brauns. It will even make Peanut Butter and grind coffee. They're made in Switzerland and you can often find them on ebay. I like that I can use it in a pot of something on the stove, like smoothing out lumpy gravy.

I own the Magic Bullet also--had to have it, couldn't wait to get it, have it almost a year now....my question is how do you chop things without liquifying them???? OMG you should see how the onions came out...could have drank them...ewww......I stopped using mine because apparently I am magic bullet challenged...LOL:faint:

I have a Magic Bullet and it is one of the best investments that I have made!

To grind without liquifying, you have to do short bursts and shake it around or stir it. And don't put too much in the cup at one time.

I just got a Cuisinart blender that also has a 3-cup food processor attachment. I figure that combo should get me through the liquid and mushy stages!
