McKee 0 Posted October 1, 2011 Ok I had surgery on June 8th this year so I'm almost 4months post op. My starting weight was 260 and I'm 5"7. As of this morning I'm down to 208.4 that's 51.6 pounds lost (not that you couldn't do the math lol) anyway I'm very proud of the loss, I just feel like a slow loser. My question is how do I figure the % of my loss I've seen it figured so many different ways. My goal was 140 but I've upped it to 150 since that would still be a normal BMI for my height. Can someone offer up some advice here? I don't go back for a check up until the 23rd of Oct and I just want to be sure my numbers are good. Thanks
Janae 12 Posted October 1, 2011 Your percentage of weight loss is calculated by dividing the amount of weight lost by your total beginning weight. This is your OVERALL percentage of weight loss. To calculate your percentage of EXCESS WEIGHT lost, you divide the amount weight lost so far (51.6) by the total excess weight. (260-150). You're doing an amazing job!
