Wow, time flies when you are having fun...not so much when you are in the hospital LOL.

Surgery Tuesday morning went great, Dr. Ali was really pleased. It took most of the afternoon to get into a room, but I was settled in by 2:30 or 3:00. Moving about was difficult, so hard just to push yourself up in bed. My doctor told me that the way that they push air into the abdominal cavity to do the surgery actually stretches all the muscles and makes you feel like you have been doing sit ups for three days straight; so true! Gas pains were horrible, but not unexpected. I was able to get up and walk a bit the first night and was doing laps yesterday morning after they took the catheter out (isn"t that such a relief?). Got some broth and Jello for Breakfast and was able to eat most of it. I m learning that if my pain is under control, I am able to eat without getting nauseous. They kept me an additional night because my white blood cell count was up a bit and they wanted a re-test to make sure I didn't have a UTI or something worse. Everything looked good yesterday so I got to come home!

I have been very fortunate, no nausea or vomiting, passing gas before I even left the hospital, able to get around and get my liquids in. I feel so blessed. thank you all for your support, it was felt!

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
