So I'm 16 days post-op!!! And from day 1 every time I try to drink plain Water I get gassy and my stomach bubbles.. Anyone else have this problem? It's kinda frustrating cause I LOVED water pre-op and it's such a thirst quencher.. Hopefully when I'm further out I can enjoy a nice cold bottle of water again!! Until then G2 and crystal light!

I'm 17 days out and I can't drink plain Water either. Makes me feel a little sick so I have to use Crystal Light or diet Arizona tea packets.. It's so weird!

I really like the 0 calorie Sobe waters. They have a lot of flavor varieties.

Yes, this too shall pass. It's not uncommon, my stomach was so noisy it was embarrassing, in bed if I laid just right it would make CONSTANT blurbs and bloops and bubbling sounds. It stopped after a while, I can't remember when. Yours should too.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Hawaiian punch Water flavors. Juicy red is my all time favor but they also have blue raspberry, grape, and orange. All sugar free!

I can still drink it, but I noticed that it tastes sweet to me, which is very odd. I wish I could do G2 or the other zero calories drinks, but they all have carbs in them so I can't. I've been drinking regular Water and propel zero. Powerade zero made my stomach really upset, but I am going to try again because it is my preferred sport drink.

Hi,

I'm four and a half weeks out and i feel the exact same thing. I was a massive Water drinker pre-op, but for some reason, I am having a problem drinking plain water. sugar free koolaid is great. Apple juice seems to go down better than anything right now though.

I had the same problem with Water, and it seemed so unnatural especially because I loved water pre-op. Try diluting apple juice with water. It tastes really good, isn't too sweet, won't overload you on sugar or carbs, and helps keep everything moving (if you know what I mean) as well too!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
