geminhi 0 Posted September 29, 2011 So curious as to how everyone is doing! First of all congratulations to everyone I had my surgery on Monday, two days ago and I feel like crap..but this too shall pass. I just feel bad because of the incisions and the drain site. I can't sit down or get up without some help so it's hard to sleep and move around in general. I didn't think this part would be the worst part. In the hospital I was getting up and walking around with minimal assistance from day one but since I've got home I've figured out that that was probably due to the anti-inflammatory medication I was given. Since I've been home I've just been sore all over like after overdoing it at the gym. Other than that I've been fine. Thanks to the walking around I've been able to get rid of some of the gas. I tolerate a good amount of Water and Protein Shakes and I JUST CAN"T WAIT TO FEEL NORMAL AGAIN! do the staples at the incision sites get removed or fall out? should I expect bowel movements this first week? when will it get easier to move around and not feel tightness at the incisions/drain sites? how do you know when full is full and not gas? I think I could drink more but stop myself because I'm not sure if I am full or gassy! I was told to drink at least 64 ounces of Fluid including Protein shakes.< /p> don't feel pain in my stomach so should I take the pain med that was prescribed for the general muscle soreness in my body? Thanks everyone!
wishes 125 Posted October 6, 2011 1. Staples get removed. 2. Probably not, there really isn't anything in your system to move. 3. Yes, it will get easier to move around, but definitely baby yourself a little. Everything will heal faster if you take care of yourself. 4. I feel full when there is a tightness. I didn't really feel a lot of gas, so not too sure about this one. 5. Personally, my pain medication made me really sick to my stomach. I stopped taking it the day after I got out of the hospital, but to each their own. Congrats on a successful surgery! Hope you have a quick recovery.
