Murf71 0 Posted September 28, 2011 Hi, Just wanted to drop a line on here to see if what I am experiencing is normal. LOL I had my surgery on Sept 19th and as of today have lost.................wait for it........................1 pound!! What's up with that??? I am feeling so amazing menatlly as the "weight" of worrying about how I am going to lose weight has been alleviated. However, now I am getting a little concerned about the slow progress. My roommate from the hospital has lost 7 so far. I am sticking to my liquid diet and making sure that everything is low sugar/sugar free and using lowfat options. Has anyone else had slow starts?? LindaS 316 Posted September 28, 2011 I gained weight during surgery because of the fluids and things they put into me. It take a bit for those to leave. I know that I lost 5 pounds in one day about a week after surgery, and I suspect it was finally the fluids leaving. I went into surgery at 245, and I was back up to 250 immediately after surgery. Caliblonde 25 Posted September 28, 2011 Don't sweat it at all. Your body just went through a major trauma and it's holding on to everything. The weight will start dropping off over time.
Toyia 2 Posted September 29, 2011 When I had my one week follow-up with my doctor, I only lost 3 lbs. Don't worry; your weight will come off in time. Don't try to compare yourself to other people; each person body will react to the surgery a different way. Right now, I am having a 3 week stall.
