I'm a little over 3 months and I'm pretty happy with my loss so far, but I know my honeymoon phase is over. The weight loss has dropped off quite a bit from the first 2 months, have had my share of stalls already.

Last week I had to travel for work where I was in all day meetings where food was catered all day long, including mid day snacks- stuff full of bad carbs- yummy nonetheless. Yes, I made some poor choices, but thanks to my sleeve I couldn't each much of it. I did gain 2# from the trip, but as soon as I got home I dropped it plus another #1 over the next few days. I have also dropped another 2# in the past couple of days eating the same way I did before my business trip.

Just curious if anyone else thinks that going "off plan" ever helps people break a stall? I'm not suggesting it be a regular thing, but sometimes I wonder if it helps give the metabolism a little shake.< /p>

Anyone???

Going off of my plan definitely helped me break a 3 week stall. I ate more and more carbs. It's all about mixing things up and keeping your body guessing so it doesn't reach homeostasis and has to constantly readjust. When I was in Weight Watchers I was taught this...there it is called the Wendy Plan.

It is almost inevitable that the body will go into "Starvation Mode" and protect itself by retaining fat. Don't forget the sleeve is only meant to lose about 50 to 60% of the excess weight. For instance at time of surgery I had excess weight of 86 pounds so I should lose somewhere between 43 to 51 pounds. I already lost 37 pounds in 2 months so over the next 10 months I should only lose between 6 to 14 pounds.

Look at your excess weight at time of surgery (surgery weight - weight for your height). You may naturally be at the weight loss time frame for the year, it is supposed to taper off over time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
