I had surgery the same date, and while I haven't tried Pasta, I have had a couple of bites of Beans, and about a quarter of a piece of chicken breast.

The liquid stage that my doctor has me on is so long, and I see so many other sleeve diet plans that allow gradual progressions of foods after only two weeks.

Today so far I have had yogurt, chicken broth, and four spoon full of refried Beans with cheese. The beans are not supposed to be for another five days, but so far so good.

Dallasmomoftwins I live in Dallas too. I had surgery at medical city on September 8. I went to see my doctor at 2 weeks post op and he said that it was ok to eat mac and cheese. I move to soft mushies tomorrow and so nervous to branch out! Have you found any support groups in Dallas?

The key part of this post is "I felt like I could have eaten..." Trust me, if you had tried to eat more, you would have been really, really sorry. When you start to add soft foods and regular foods, you will begin to feel the restriction and pay the consequences of eating too much or too fast. Don't feel like you are sabotaging yourself. This is a learning process for all of us, and you are at the very beginning of your journey. You have lots to experience and learn in the months ahead. Just keep in touch here for guidance and encouragement. Good luck!! Kathe

OMG I completely understand. I just started mushies yesterday. I had one egg for Breakfast, a Protein shake, a 1/2 can of canned chicken and 2 green Beans for lunch, a lite yogurt about 1/2 a container for snack and some refried Beans with cheese for dinner. I added Isopure plain Protein to my shake and my yogurt to help me get my 60 grams in for the day. It was great.

I am still a little scared of eating too much. I feel what seems like a gas bubble forming in my center chest between by breasts and I make myself stop eating. I'm not sure if that is the feeling I am supposed to be watching for or not. Today, I had a Protein Shake for Breakfast due to timing and am enjoying a can of tuna for lunch now.

I returned to work on Monday and have noticed my liquid consumption has significantly suffered. The scale hasn't moved in 6 days now and I noticed my rings, etc are tight whereas they were loose a few days ago. Hopefully I can increase my liquids today and the scale will move in the next few days. Trying to stay positive.

Oh and I'm walking a lot too. I walk 500 steps every 2 hours at work which gives me a mile by the end of the day.

My doctor required a 2 week pre diet followed by liquids for 3 weeks and then mushies for another 3 weeks. By Halloween, I will be able to eat more but just less of it. I am excited.

DO NOT WORRY!! Every doctor is different... My doctor had me on mushies the week after my surgery... Many doctors do the same thing... the key is to avoid anything crunchy like crackers, or with small hard particles (like the little bits in whole grain crackers)... Relax.. at first it is bloody hard, but it gets easier, and the hunger (which is mostly head hunger anyway) will go away.. and then you will be rocking your sleeve!! Best of luck!!! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
