I don't know if any of you remember the national lampoon's Christmas Vacation movie, although any self respecting Christmas Fanatic knows this movie by heart. They have in that movie a really awesome Advent Calendar in the form a large house with many doors and windows. Rob and I have searched for this and found the makers.

http://www.theadventhouse.com/

They are sold out for this year, but we will be ordering for next year for sure!!

Well in past years I put up about 6 trees. I had one in every room, themed, and every inch of the house was decorated. I would throw an open house for about 100 people. In recent years I haven't done as much. DH and I are going on a Christmas cruise this year. I'll still decorate, but not as much. I am going to put up 2 trees, my 10 ft. tree in the formal room with Radko ornaments, and my 6 ft red and white themed tree in the family room.

I hope to have lost 60 lbs by then. I really want to wear a new bathing suit on the cruise and some new clothes.

I'm realistic about my ability to lose weight and think 8 pounds a month on average is about right. That would mean 40 more pounds off for Christmas... my 100% favorite holiday.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas! I come from a huge family so on average we have 4-5 family Christmas parties. We have to rent out a hall for one because that side is so big. But I just love seeing all my family, some you only get to see once or twice a year. Making fun of our Aunts and Uncles as they sing Christmas Carols and try to get us to join in. I used to be so worried that it wouldn't be the same once I was banded, because in our family a lot of the celebration is the food. But it turned out it didnt bother me at all. And I love the fact that I lose weight over the holidays while veryone else complains about gaining.

I hadn't thought about making a goal, but I would like to be at 170 for Christmas, and I am starting at 204 this morning. I hope we all can get to our goals!!

Barb!!! We do multiple trees too!!! Our family room tree is red and white candy cane striped. And we actually bunch the ornaments by color so that the tree itself is diagonally striped. The office tree this year (this is a new home so the rooms have changed) will have the oldfashioned tree. Fat lights, and all of our old family ornaments. Silver dipped pine cones and strung popcorn. Apples and wooden carved ornaments. This is the tree that will be in the front window for passers by to see. In our bedroom will be the green and white tree. We have collected a crystal ornament every year we have been together, and we pair it wil shiny green balls and green and white lights. Our bathrooms all have candy apple decorated mini trees, and we do a copper oranment tree with frosted white lights in the kitchen.

For the kids we always do most of the presents under the family room tree, but we hide presents in the other trees for them to find.

I think it is cool to have a christmas goal, since a lot of us have christmas occasions that we want to look our best for. Plus christmas and thanksgiving can be tough times, so we need as much preparation as possible. Lets get this going as a true goal thread. Lets make this christmas one to remember. And lets make sure we give ourselves a really nice gift to reward ourselves for the hard work we will be putting in. it is 159 day till christmas. I am going to set aside a dollar a day till christmas, and buy myself a nice new outfit for christmas. Something that shows off my new size.

Lets have a checkin each week, for whoever wants to. Wednesday is a day used by a lot of the other goal threads, so we will make it Wednesday. I will put together a list of those participating, and for that I need your current weight, and what your christmas goal weight is. For example: FunnyDuddies - C: 318 G:230

I will place this list in my first post here and we can update it weach wednesday.

Anyone know where I can download some christmas themed coloring sheets? My kids love to color, and coloring books are great, but my daughter loves to color the same thing over and over. Thought printing some out would be great.

Ok, I took some stuff out of my first post to make room for the list. so I am going to put it here.

For all christmas fans, go to www.christmas.com to get cards, ideas, crafts, and chrsitmas radio that plays christmas songs 365/24/7.

BTW, only 159 more days till christmas. http://www.auburn.edu/~vestmon/xmas_cnt.htm gives you, down to the minute, a great countdown.

I have set a goal for christmas. My doc here thinks I could lose 10-15 pounds a month. If I work hard and do 15 pounds a month I could be down 90 pounds by the time Christmas comes around. So my Christmas goal is 230 pounds. We'll see how that goes.

For some tips on how NOT to decorate:

And for a total awesome Christmas lights display..

I love Christmas. Its my favorite holiday.

I will be banded 8-15, so my Christmas goal is to be under/near 275.

So I guess its "join/current/goal"?

That would be 297/297/275. I really dont know if more would be realistic to be at then, at a loss in 4 mts.

I love Christmas too.. I'd love to lose 25 lbs by then (well really more but I'll be realistic). Especially with halloween, thanksgiving goodies before the biggie holiday.

214 July 18th / 189 Dec 25th - Goal

Thanks

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
