Two weeks post op and finally able to try some yogurt. I bought the Activia Lite 4 ounce yogurts. I ate a peach one very slowly, probably over about 15 minutes, however, I was able to eat the entire four ounces without an issue.

Should I be concerned? Does that seem like too much in one sitting for two weeks post op?

I see people say they can only eat 2 oz here or there, but I am not clear if that is solids, or something thin like yogurt?

I haven't lost weight for three days, so I am a little worried, sorry!

Hi-

it is easy to eat yogurt-

I barely remember 2 weeks out... I think I was eating 2 oz. but then again- I was having troubles eating anything.

4-6 oz. is my daily lunch- I stick with greek yogurt only with no added sugars.

after my bike ride yesterday- I'm 3 months out and did 21 miles with an avg. 18.4 mph. :)

I had a 3 oz. choc. greek yogurt- not my fav. but a nice size snack.< /p>

Ok thanks! I was thinking I would feel something after the first two ounces, but I was fine, and before I knew it the yogurt was gone.

I bought some cottage cheese hoping I could tough it out, but I just can't. It is so disgusting!

It will be a long week of cheese and yogurt, and then on to Beans and fish next week, yay!

I kept my food log and I was eating 1/2 cup yogurt or cream Soup at 2 weeks out. For dense Protein (chicken, fish, beef, pork, or dense cheese), I have been able to eat 2 oz. at most meals since about a month out.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
