Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. It sounds like you know how much you should be eating so don't push it. Eat whatever amount you are supposed to and stop. Did you eat quickly? Or did you take your time? I am almost 7 months out and still cannot get that much down, so you need to be cautious so you don't make yourself sick or sabotage yourself.

Why did you eat that much? Were you still hungry after the egg? I find that I have set menus that I eat (measure and weigh my food as per my nut) and then if I'm still hungry I tell myself that the next meal or snack is not that far away so I can just wait thank you very much. Stop pushing the limits. The sleeve will help you but it won't do all the work for you.

Everyone has different capacity, and it'll vary by the food you eat. Your own anatomy and surgeon's technique can vary. But, you ate a lot of mushy stuff so mushy stuff = no restriction, food moves out quickly. Just eat measured portions and this will prevent you from overeating. Plus, nerves are still healing so you aren't going to feel a full signal necessarily. It took months for me to get a full signal, and even then, it wasn't something I went looking for when eating.

I am surprised at how much I can eat sometimes. then other times I barely get down 1/4 cup of broth.< /p>

I am trying to live by the moto of eat healthy and what the family is eating minus bread/starches of any kind. so yesterday I ate 1 scrambled egg-Breakfast then mandrian orange snack and lunch was 1/4 of spinach and 1 babybell cheese and snack was some pepperonis (5 slices) then dinner was 1/4 cup of pad thai. when Iam eating it I am feeling like OMG that is a ton of food but then I lay it out in my fitness pal ticker and see it is less then 600 calories.

so if you evaluate the calories really you have only consumed about 200 calories. if you are chewing throughly (to baby food like consistancy) and eating VERY slowly ( 20 or more minutes) then 200 calories is not at all bad. try greek yogurt instead of pudding for more protien. the Dannon seems the best to me. How is your energy and weightloss going? can you drink morethen 4 oz of liquids at a time?

talk soon, Mel

You are healing some by now and a lot of the swelling may be going down, so you may be able to eat a little more. And as Tiffy mentioned, a lot of the nerves were cut and may not be signalling your full yet, so definitely keep measuring and don't count on it to keep you from overeating yet. I have noticed a lot of the successful sleevers "undereat" they're sleeve, meaning they always measure and eat only till satisfied or not hungry but not overstuffed. I try not to get too full and also make sure I don't drink with meals, cuz it will just push the food on thru and allow more food.

:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
