I totally understand!!! I am in the same boat so I don't have any tips. I went to see my doctor today and expected to progress to pureed food. That was not the case. It's going to be another week of Clear liquids. At least u get to have things other than clears. :-|

We will get through it. 6 days to go!

Stay strong! Go for a walk, read, get on the phone and talk to someone, play a game on the computer. This liquid diet will be a faint memory before too long, I promise. Good luck you you both!

OMG me too!!! I was sleeved on 9/15 and as much as I know this was for the better, this 2 week liquid is killing me plus my throat STILL hurts. The gas has subsided but the air when taking in fluids is still painful. I've had all I can stand with the Protein Shakes. I've had quite the variety and found powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury and chike is the best tasting Protein for me. I'm going to try freezing it to maybe an soft ice cream state. I will let you know how that turns out. I was told clear liquid so puree soup is not on my plan yet, just broth. Unjury makes a chicken soup that was bareable until today. Will not be going back there either. What I am allowed is the sugar free pops that helps me feel a bit normal at this point. And I indulge in ice chips a lot. I don't know why but it takes my mind off of eating. I go back to my doctor for my first checkup on Monday. If he says anything ... any words involving extending Clear Liquids I will loose the last bit of sanity I have!

Folks here keep saying it will get better...man I can't wait!. Best of luck with your sleeve.

Hi DallasMom,

I remember replying to a thread wishing you luck before your surgery. Maybe try to remember all the reason why you did this and how excited you were when you finally got your date? I haven't been sleeved yet so I really have no right to say anything but I bet that this too shall pass. Things will get better, just hang in there! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
