Anything heavy, sticky, or gooey can get stuck and cause a PB. I think if you try it, you should take very small bites and eat other food between bites so there's less of a chance it will reform into a dough-ball in your stomach.

You can try it and see, or you can realize that cornbread stuffing isn't the be-all end-all of holidays!

Happy Thanksgiving!

By the holidays, it might not even appeal to you any more. Or you might try eating small bites with lots of gravy.

Its very strange but looking back, I was worried about holiday eating also. Actually, probably about eating in general. I didn't want to miss my favorite foods. But I don't. I just eat alot less of them and use some common sense.

You will find your food niche as time progresses. Good luck. Celeste

Thanks DonnaB and Road Queen...... I just worried I won't be able to eat anything around that time. I guess I will just have to test it and see.

You will be amazed by all the things you will be able to at least nibble at during the holidays. And the full flavor of a food is used up in the first few bites anyway so I think we will all be satisfied and proud of ourselves at how much control we have over food instead of the other way around.

You have obviously never tried mine! HAHAHAHA

I worry about this too. My family expects my cornbread and sausage gravy. And my mother in law makes THE BEST sweet rolls ever!! Thanksgiving and christmas are going to be a trial. We will see if I can handle just one or two bites of everything.

I just want to be able to eat some traditional holiday food. My Mom cook so much food you have to decide what you are gonna it today and what you will have the next day.

Oh no :omg::omg: Cornbread stuffing, I hadn't even thought about that. I love cornbread stuffing and can't imagine thanksgiving and christmas dinner without it. Oh, please let me be able to eat it!

thinking back and drooling, I ate pretty much everything but really drowned the turkey and stuffing with gravy. oh, this thread has to end. I did see pork chops in the store yesterday and celery - maybe I will make pork chops with stuffing and gravy on Friday night. mmm.

oh, I can taste cranberrry relish right now...okay, I'm going to try and drink my morning Protein shake...maybe I will throw some cranberries in it. lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
