carlen 0 Posted September 19, 2011 I will be getting my new sleeve in two weeks! A bit nervous as the surgery will involve undoing my previous Nissen Fundoplication surgery from approximately 6 years ago. My surgeon is being extra cautious and has stated I will be in the hospital with a drain for about 5 to 6 days post op and the surgery will take about 6 hours. I'm also having all kinds of extra imaging tests done. I am wondering if anyone out there has gone through this and what there outcome was afterward? Did it take you longer to recover after the surgery? Do you think you had a harder time with recovery? Any information would be greatly appreciated! My surgery is scheduled for 10/6/11 at Scripps Mercy in San Diego, CA. Happy Day to All! Carlen
Rdy2Bthin 8 Posted June 13, 2012 I also am having a reversal of my Nissen. The only issue with the sleeve would be stapling over scar tissue from the Nissen. My doctor stated that he had performed several and did not forsee any problems. He stated that only a one or two day stay in the hospital would be required.
