Pain next to belly button

Recommended Posts

I'll be 10 weeks out tomorrow. This morning when I got up, I noticed a pain on the left next to my belly button when I leaned up against the counter. It's a small area about the size of a silver dollar, but only hurts when you press on it. It's a soreness type pain. Seems to be getting worse as the day goes, takes less pressure on it, to feel the pain/soreness.

The only thing I can think of is something to do with me working out. But Thursday night was the last time I did that. So why would it start today? I lifted 5 lbs weights and did some small crunches, but nothing else I did should cause this pain. And really....3 days later to feel the pain. Not sure that is the cause.

It doesn't hurt sitting, walking or bending over. Only when you press on it.

Any idea?

I am 2 weeks out and have that same pain. I have been told it's where they cut into the abdominal muscle to put the stapler in/out and to remove the stomach portion. So, it was really stretched open during surgery. Some folks report pain 1-2 months out still. Maybe that's what it is.

Ibuprofen and a heating pad is what I would go for!:D

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
