How can you go from a size 16 to a 12 and not lose any inches? That right there speaks volumes. Sounds like you are doing something right to me! :clap2:

Oh, and my doctor says to not concentrate on the pounds as they will drive you crazy.

Don't worry, the scale will move. You're losing fat and gaining muscle - muscle weighs more AND it's smaller! Hooray.

Don't worry, the scale will move. Your body is compacting, before you know it you're going to drop weight like crazy. Keep moving.

Don't worry, the scale WILL move.

If you dropped sizes, then you dropped inches. It could be that there was a flaw in the measuring, or something like that. But you do see the change. and you do feel the change. the scale will move. the body takes time to adjust, and should not be expected to adjust overnight.

Your body is turning fat into lean muscle mass. That is why you don't see the scale go down but you see the sizes. If you turn 10 lbs of fat into lean muscle you may see a size or 1/2 size difference. Understand?

User error would be my guess. Measuring yourself with a tape measure is an inexact science at best. If you've dropped 2 sizes, you've dropped inches!

It is utterly bizarre to lose inches and not weight on the scales though, isnt it?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
