sarahh1828 4 Posted September 15, 2011 I don't ride my own bike yet, I'm currently a passenger on my husbands Harley Roadking. But I enjoy riding a lot, and was wondering how soon I'll be able to go again. My birthday is next month, I was going to take my rider's safety course, and get a bike then, is that too soon? I was sleeved on the 7th, and am looking to ride alone on October 28th. I would love to go for a ride again soon, but don't when when it is safe. Thanks Sarah
Rootman 1,101 Posted September 15, 2011 I don't think that riding the bike will hurt just as soon as you feel up to it - HOWEVER - you ARE still healing and should you take a tumble it MAY produce MORE injuries than it would otherwise. I'd wait a month or two at least. JMHO I waited about 4 months to ride mine, we have a Goldwing and the weather had more to do with it than anything.
sarahh1828 4 Posted September 16, 2011 K. So being a passenger wouldn't be too bad, but I should probly wait to take my safety class and buy my bike. Thanks so much Rootman!
digitalmechanic 0 Posted September 18, 2011 I waited a week before mounting my vtx 1300. Rode around a bit in the parking lot to ensure I would be able to pull the bike out of a situation if necessary.
