Death by uterus?? Is this possible??!! LOL....

Recommended Posts

Ok, this is my 3rd period since my surgery March 8, 2011. The first one was 3 months ago, the second 6 weeks ago and I'm currently in the middle of the period from HE**!! Anyone else experienced this? The cramps are ungodly and I'm running through a tampon an hour. Lord help me! I haven't had regular cycles since BEFORE I was married 13 years ago and they were NOTHING like this. If my next one is like this one, I'll mention it to my ob/gyn at my next visit.

YES! Mine are so much worse now than they were before. Granted they are shorter, it's like everything happens all at once and done in 2 days. But the cramps are horrendous, I end up in tears and just miserable. I talked to my PCM about it a few weeks ago she suggested taking an anti-inflamatory, since my surgeon won't allow me to take motrin, she told me to try the Meloxicam that I can take. She suggested possibly needing to go on a birth control pill to help control them and lighten them but I won't put anything else in my body unless necessary. She said rapid weight loss can do horrible things to your cycle ugh.

It must have to do with all the estrogen that is dumping into your system from the fat loss. Perhaps a little OTC Progesterone cream? to balance it out? I am NOT a doctor, but perhaps you could talk to your obgyn about it.

I would suggest you contact your OB/GYN doctor. Something may not be right. I use to have extremely heavy periods and found that the hormone that is suppose to slow down your bleeding was not kicking in. I tried birth control pills but they did not work, They then gave me a prescription that made my body think it was menapouse so I did not have periods (I was already done with having children) but that big side effect was WEIGHT GAIN. I finally had hysteretomy (this was all presurgery many years ago) and I don't miss a thing with that time of month anymore. The main thing is there may be a medical reason so you may not want to wait.

Mine became the period from Hell for the first 5 months. I am now almost 7 months out and they are taming down (on a side note at the same time my weight loss has also slowed down). Probably all the extra estrogen being released from your fat cells in your stomach. I had one that had me almost crying on the floor and thinking of calling an ambulance. I got through it but it was not nice. Check with your OBGYN next time you see her/him.

I had an endometrial ablation last year, which was about a year before my WLS. It is not a hysterectomy, but it can help with really bad periods. In fact, I haven't had a period since the surgery. (I should note that I did notice some minor bleeding after my WLS but not even enough to get my underwear dirty.)

An endometrial ablation basically scorches the inside of your uterus, so you don't have anything for a lining to adhere to. You can still get pregnant (but the odds aren't good). I have been very happy with my results. Before I had that surgery, I was having to use tampons and pads together and still having bleed through problems.

The surgery doesn't guarantee you won't have periods. It is most likely that you won't, but even if you do, they will be MUCH better.

I hope that helps. I was amazed when I found out there was a solution besides a hysterectomy.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
