meggspeggs 0 Posted September 14, 2011 I had my surgery on 8/26. I am cleared to go back to work on the 20th. I am really scared. I work 12 hour night shifts. I am so afraid I am going to crash. How did all of you do after returning to work? I am still on liquids and feeling weak and exhausted. I don't know why I am so scared....Advice please! lulublu 7 Posted September 15, 2011 I don't work in a hospital anymore, but I went back to work after 7 days. I work 9 hour shifts with very little sitting (like in the hospital setting) and I did ok. It wasn't great and I was very tired. The 2nd to 3rd week was definitely the worst time for me just because I was still having trouble getting enough Protein in. I was allowed to have my drink with me which was good, but you probably won't be able to do that, so you will really need to concentrate on getting enough fluids down. By the 5th week I was really feeling fine and my energy level has continued to improve ever since. Good luck!
