Calling all Nurses!!!!

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on 8/26. I am cleared to go back to work on the 20th. I am really scared. I work 12 hour night shifts. I am so afraid I am going to crash. How did all of you do after returning to work? I am still on liquids and feeling weak and exhausted. I don't know why I am so scared....Advice please!

I don't work in a hospital anymore, but I went back to work after 7 days. I work 9 hour shifts with very little sitting (like in the hospital setting) and I did ok. It wasn't great and I was very tired. The 2nd to 3rd week was definitely the worst time for me just because I was still having trouble getting enough Protein in. I was allowed to have my drink with me which was good, but you probably won't be able to do that, so you will really need to concentrate on getting enough fluids down. By the 5th week I was really feeling fine and my energy level has continued to improve ever since.

Good luck!

I work on a medsurg floor and a ob floor. I am hoping I will get staffed in ob a lot the first couple weeks i'm back. Newborns are a lot easier to move than adults ;)

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
