Mel34 11 Posted September 12, 2011 Hello, everyone! My name is Melissa. I'm 30 years old and weight 220 lbs. I'm tired of being tired!! I have a very active 3 year old and most of the time I'm just too tired to play with her. She started to notice and so I decided to do something about it. I had my first appointment with my general doctor and since I have BCBS Federal, I have to do 3 months of weight management. I wish I could have the surgery sooner because 3 months seems like a long time but I know I have to do it!! I was wondering if anyone that has BCBS Federal has ever been denied and for what reasons. I'm very nervous about the whole process!!! thanks to anyone who offers their words of encouragment!
emily_0192010 168 Posted September 12, 2011 Hello!! Congrats on getting the ball rolling! I was where you are just a few months ago. I am getting sleeved next Monday. I do not have BCBS, but I also had to do a three month physician supervised weight loss program. I know it sounds like a really long time and at that point it seems like forever before you will actually get the surgery. But from my perspective it went really fast. I think those months are really important to help you prepare for all of the changes that are going to happen. Good luck!!
Mel34 11 Posted September 13, 2011 Thank you!!! And I'm hoping these 3 months go by quick! I have a question... How much weight did you lose from your first appointment to your surgery date??
