Sleeveme2011 0 Posted September 11, 2011 Good morning to all! When did you introduce watermelon (if you eat it) into your plan? Thanks in advance!
MegInNOLA 531 Posted September 11, 2011 I had watermelon as soon as I was allowed soft foods. Be sure to start with a small amount (in the beginning I could only eat a tiny bite!), chew it well, and enjoy--mind the seeds! You really don't want an accidental watermelon seed in your healing sleeve.
Chicadee 10 Posted September 11, 2011 I tried it pretty early as well, when I was able to eat soft food. I couldn't eat very much of it either.
Sleeveme2011 0 Posted September 11, 2011 Awesome! Thanks ladies. I am on soft foods now and was curious. My two books I have (one from Nut and one from Doc) do not say the same things. Plus my doctor has me on a different stage than the book would have me. I am so excited.
phillygirl 1 Posted September 11, 2011 I too had my first bit of watermelon when I was on soft foods, just a tiny bit. DELICIOUS.
dramagirl28 22 Posted September 11, 2011 I juiced mine and had it on the liquid stage. I mixed in some peach Protein Powder and it was pretty good. I tried not to have too much of it though because it does have a lot of sugar. It didn't bother my stomach at all, but I didn't want to chance it.
Marie from Michigan 11 Posted September 12, 2011 Watermelon continues to be a problem food for me at 5 months after surgery. Even just eating a few pieces will send my stomach into spasms. I think its because of the high sugar content. It was a food I loved prior to surgery, but not so much today.
