Olgrannyone 0 Posted May 11, 2004 Hi, I need to know if anyone has names of physicians in Michigan that are doing the lapband? I have seen a Dr. Cudjoe in alma, MI who is just starting with the lapbands. He does the other surgerys too. Were any of you required to have an Endoscopy before your procedure??? I am just not sure if this is the Surgeon I want to do my procedure, although he is located near me. I would appreciate your help. Thanks Kathy

kombat96 0 Posted May 12, 2004 I'm a patient of Dr. Mounir Gazayerli. He's located in Troy and operates at North Oakland Hospital. He's great. I was banded on the 7th of April, I have lost between 48-63 lbs. already. Doc. is also very kind, he sent me a months supply of protien shakes to try. 248-643-4646 give him a call. quakergirl 2 Posted May 13, 2004 I had Dr. Bhesania in Port Huron. He's one of the most experienced lap-band docs in our state and I'm quite pleased with him. In my case, he didn't require an endoscopy, but I don't know if that's the case for all his patients. All I had done was bloodwork and an EKG.
gretat 0 Posted May 28, 2004 I am also a patient of Dr. Deol. She is great!! She has you do lots of pre-op checks, but it just made me thankful that she was checking for every possible problem. She also requires lots of follow-up in order to ensure your success. Post-surgery and I see the nutritionist about every 6 weeks, there is a support group run by the nutritionist and a psychologist and I have also choosen to go to individual therapy to search out the root of my eating problems. My stay at Beaumont hospital was great. So, if you choose Dr. Deol, I think you will be very happy. Greta Good Luck!
Olgrannyone 0 Posted May 30, 2004 Hi Everyone, I finally decided to stay with the Surgeon I am seeing. The staff is awfull, but he is a good Surgeon, Edward Cudjoe, M.D. and is in alma, MI. That is probably the only one I know this far north that does the bands. I did have my Endoscopy last week Thursday. All went well, they put me completely to sleep ( I like that, I don't want to know what is going on). I woke up and it was all done! I am scheduled to see him the 10th of June and hopefully will be scheduled for surgery soon after. I will keep you posted. Thanks to Everyone, Kathy
SRaeM 0 Posted April 28, 2006 I received lapband surgery from Dr. Cudjoe. I am very happy with him. He seems a little shy, but he really cares about his patients. He takes extra precautions from what I have seen about other Dr.'s on this site. I have had no problems with his office staff, but have heard from others that they are not the friendliest. There is also a great support group through his office.
