meggspeggs 0 Posted September 11, 2011 I am still on full liquids. Some of the Protein smoothies sound sooooo good. Are They Okay to have on full liquids?

Tiffykins 673 Posted September 11, 2011 Did you get a post-op dietary guideline from your surgeon????
Indymom 132 Posted September 11, 2011 Agree with Tiffy, you need to cross-check your food guidelines with the recipes. For example, in my full liquids phase there were certain fruits I couldn't have so I had to avoid certain smoothie recipes. Also my plan recommends avoiding Peanut Butter because of the high fat content, so even though a lot of people were adding a tbsp of peanut butter in their smoothies that wasn't something I was allowed to do. meggspeggs 0 Posted September 11, 2011 I did get a post op guideline. It didn't mention smoothies though. I can't have Peanut Butter yet either.
Tiffykins 673 Posted September 11, 2011 I did get a post op guideline. It didn't mention smoothies though. I can't have Peanut Butter yet either. My rule of thumb is if it wasn't on my "approved" list, I didn't eat it. The guideline is there for a reason. Mainly, to protect your sleeve. Of course, it's next purpose is to give the necessary information to ensure success. I developed lactose intolerance and whey intolerance post-VSG so I couldn't do any of that stuff. treequeen 13 Posted September 12, 2011 if you have a smoothie, you have to make sure there are no chunks, seeds or skins in it.
