Any New Jersey Gastric Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Yes, it's private...no one can see details of the group unless they join. One thing I don't know is whether or not someone can see it from your meetup profile. That is, if they saw your profile on meetup.com, could they see that you're a member...I'll check on that

Wow! Just got home today ...sleeved' June 6 th ..what an experience ! I feel ok ...gas the worst part ,feeling deprived and going thru some emotional stuff, was kept In the hospital for nausea and not tolerating the fluids...not very comfortable right now ..gas is

Logged in my back ..trying to get my fluids in in the time frame allotted (1 oz every 15 mins) very difficult for me ...also very swollen , so no fun results yet! Hopefully Soooon

Phenomenal. I used Dr Aceves. Definitely cheaper options, but wouldn't have changed my decision for anything. There is a forum on here for mexico soecifically, so you may want to check that out. I have some videos and blog posts about the experience if you're interested (look for ones around my may 21 surgery date)...gastricsleeve4me.blogspot.com. But also happy to answer any ques if you want to post here or private message me.

I also went to Mexico with Dr Kelly & had an amazing experience. I went alone & almost didn't want to come back, they treated me so well.

It cost $5500 for me & that included everything (even 2 nights at a hotel after) except airfare.

If you wanted to read more, I have a blog: http://njsharonjourney.blogspot.com/

You can also chat to Omar, who works for Dr Kelly at wls-clinic@hotmail.com.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
