I put on some jeans I got for Christmas about 7 years ago. They have never fit. They didn't even fit last week, but today, they do!!!! And I don't mean in that don't breath barely button kind of way, I mean I comfortably wore them all day and looked good, no muffin top. I am the smallest I've been in 12 years.....still plugging along, but feeling pretty flipping good.

I have always hated jeans and the painful red mark they made on my stomach after I wore them for any long period of time. Now I love jeans...one of my favorite things about being a skinny person:) Congrats to you!

It's sooo fun! I try on clothes every week or two. And it's funny how I may lose only 2 pounds in between that time, but things that didn't fit those 2 pounds ago are suddenly fitting very comfortably, like I got a lot smaller even though the scale says otherwise. That's why I do it! When the scale is dropping, I feel positive about the journey. When the scale slows or stalls, it gets frustrating. I purposely start trying on clothes then because I find it the best way to see how I am still shrinking even if the scale doesn't say so.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
