Some never get this stall, but mine was 4 weeks long. How can you NOT lose weight eating only 300 calories a day? Thats the magic of the three week stall! It will start coming off again, I promise.. just keep up the good work. If you follow the docs rules.... you can search the three week stall here too for many stories.

My stall started closer to 4 weeks after surgery (at that point I had lost about 35lbs) and it lasted 3 weeks. It was a lonnngggg 3 weeks, but I'm losing pretty consistently now, slower but consistent.

MIne was a good 4 weeks as well. But, as already has been said, hang in there! It starts to come off!!!! I tend to get big drops after the stalls, especially after that first one. I think the body is in total confusion as to what to do LOL. With the support of the people on this board, I focused on nutrition, fluids, and doing what I was suppose to do.. oh and deep breathing for my impatience :-) Best of luck with your journey!!!!

Yep, majority of us will get this dreaded stall. It starts at around week 2-3 Post Op and from what I've seen will last anywhere from 3 weeks long through around 5 weeks long.

Just keep doing all the right things, it will pass. Promise!!

I didn't have my first stall until my 9th week. It lasted for 4.5 weeks. It was rough but I got past it. I did lose some inches during the stall, I just didn't lose any weight, in fact I went up and down the same 2 pounds.

Good point, do mesure yourself now and then... when the scales don't move, the inches will.

My first stall started at the end of week 2. It lasted for almost 4 weeks but then I dropped 15 lbs. in a week and a half. Then another stall....and the story goes on and on....lol...I'm now almost 3 months out and am in my 3rd wicked stall. <_< Ugh! But since pre op, I've lost 55 lbs. So, hang in there...it will come off!

Mine started at 2 1/2 weeks and lasted for 4 weeks. It will end and you will lose fine after....until the next stall! Join the club, its pretty natural for this to happen. It is nothing you are doing wrong.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
