hair pieces for curly hair?

Recommended Posts

I have extremely thin and extremely curly hair. I'm sure down the road I will be near bald. Can anyone suggest where to get a hair piece? Or maybe a type?

i got mine at Avon, but I blow dry and use a straight Iron. However they had lots of curly options too! The other more expensive option is a wig store.

I've got the same problem. I have lost at least 1/2 of my hair. I've been to numerous drs from endocrinologists to dermatologists, and nobody can help. I've been wearing toppers for a few years now. wigsupport.com is an excellent support board. The lady that runs the board owns a wig store, and she is extremely helpful in finding a solution. I've been buying from her for years. She is awesome. I don't have curly hair, so I don't know what's out there for that hair type, but this website can definitely help. I doubt that my hair will return even after I lose weight because it's been gone so long. A dermatologist told me the scalp scars over after a time, and the hair can't regrow. My heart goes out to anyone dealing with this issue, because it's been extremely difficult, painful, and embarrassing for me.

I have super-curly hair, and the last couple of times I've grown out from short to long, in that horrible in-between stage where I can't do anything with it (cause it's also super-thick so it gets REAL big and bushy), as soon as I could squeeze it all back into a pony tail, even if it meant using a band to keep the shorter front and sides in, I'd use a curly, clip-on longer ponytail that I got at Sally's. It's the claw-type of clip, and just squeezes right around the base of your own ponytail and works great! At that time, they had a shorter, curlier one and a longer, looser-curled one.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
