TO THE SLEEVERS WHO ACHIEVED THEIR GOALS

Recommended Posts

I am 11 pounds from my goal and I have to confess that I am eating carbs, chocolates, etc (as well as Protein, salads, fruit...). I continue to loose weight . I do not see that I will be able to eat more in the future than what I am eating now. My fear is that i will continue to loose weight and become too thin.

My question is:

Are you having difficulties in stopping the weight loss or maintaining a healthy weight? Any tips?

Thanks

I am less than 20 pounds form goal, and have stayed about the same weight for a month now. That is while eating 1100-1200 a day and exercising 5 days a week... I'm not sure if I will even reach my modest goal at this amount. I guess time will tell.

I am 5 pounds from goal and my weight loss literally stopped. I think when your body is done...it's done. 5 pounds won't make a difference in my appearance but I still want to get there..

I hope to be asking a question like this someday. :) I do have a friend who had RNY and her docs are concerned that she's losing too much and want her to put on some weight. It's been difficult for her.

This concern is common with folks that has undergone WLS. The body is magnificent machine. It will tell you when its stop losing weight. The most IMPORTANT thing is for you to stay on target. Stick to your diet plan and exercise. There is a new you, a fresh body, with a pristine attitude. It going to take effort in order for you to succeed in your long term goal. Please don't not fall back into yesterday's pitfalls.

Take care & be well,

Lash

Instead of trying to eat larger meals, I read somewhere that someone added more healthy fats to stop losing. Like avocados, nuts, more olive oil in cooking and higher fat dairy. This seemed to make sense to me ...that you can eat higher calories but still stick to healthy calories.

if it *REALLY* was an issue, you could always just add in soft/liquid calories.... like icecream.

"Ohh, I have to make sure I get in my scoop of icecream for the day, doctor's orders..."

What a wonderful problem to have :P

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
