I guess I have just failed at every diet ever and I am thinking what is different about this? I have the sleeve done two months ago and I have lost 43 lbs and that is awesome but just keep wondering is this really gonna work!!

Only like EVERY DAY! I guess it's natural for most of us, for some of use we've struggled with weight for DECADES and the fact that it might be OVER for us is hard to accept. The fact is that you CAN FAIL too - but I would think it would really take an effort to bypass the pouches limits, whereas before it just happens naturally.

I HOPE this is my FINAL and COMPLETE lifelong solution.

I think the sleeve will continue to do its part as long as we continue to do ours. If we eat healthy and stop eating when our stomachs say that's enough I can't imagine failing. Be positive, your doing great with your weight loss. Janine

I'm absolutely terrified of failure. Probably more scared of failure than of the surgery, recovery, etc.

Every day. Every time I eat something that isn't mostly Protein, I feel guilty. I worry that it's my bad eating habits coming to get me. If it seems like I can eat more one day than the day before, I worry that I've stretched out my stomach. If I feel hungry, I worry that my hunger feelings are back to stay and I'll start over-eating again. If I accidentally eat too fast or more than I should, I worry that I've started binging. It's enough to drive a person crazy.

I worry about it, but in the end logic always wins out. I know that I can get all of this weight off and I can keep it off. I just have to stay mindful of my choices. Luckily, it's easier than it's ever been before.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
