Been stalled for almost 2.5 weeks now hovering between 299 and 297.....I think it will be a tall order to get these 22 lbs in what is now 1 month left. Hopefully I can make it. Worried about my Dr visit on the 19th because he is not going to be happy if I am still stuck here, he will give me the 3rd degree.

I may not make my Halloween goal but I am in ONEDERLAND and 3.4 pounds away from having lost 100 lbs!!!:D I was sleeved on 1/29/11, almost exactly 8 months ago. Loosing 100 lbs was something that I wanted to happen but the idea was difficult to wrap my mind around and believe that I would be able to do. I've done WW, Atkins, Nutri-System, South Beach in the past and not been successful so I was skeptical while hopeful that the sleeve would work for me. My mom supported me on this journey and to thank her for her support I gave her a Bracelet that said believe on it. Over the summer I got a tattoo of the japanese symbol for believe on my wrist to remind me as I reach for something I shouldn't have, to believe I can do it. While it's been difficult I do believe. I would encourage anyone thinking about VSG, to believe. You can do it and the sleeve will help you reach your goals!

Posting a day earlier than normal, just excited to post my results for the week. I had major loss this week!!! Onderland here I come!!! 17# to go is still pretty aggressive, but going to get as close as I can.

Another slow week. I had to travel for work and was in all day meetings where they catered food non-stop. I have to admit I ate some things I shouldn't have and the days were so long I wasn't able to get in any exercise. They had Cookies, donuts, pastries, oh my god!!! I kind of feel lucky I didn't gain any weight.

Here is my next update! I thought since we are now in October, I should update and stay accountable.

SN.................................SW....................................CW................................Goal...............................Lbs to Goal

Sheila........................245 lbs.............................203 lbs..........................199bs..............................4 little lbs to go

I am loving this sleeve. I never thought I would be losing this much weight and keeping it off. My husband loves to hug me, he keeps threatening to pick me up. Everyone at work notices and tells me how amazing I look. I can't wait to see what everyone thinks when I get closer to my final goal of around 140lbs. It will blow their minds.

Just checking in!

SW-----CW-----GW-----Pounds to goal

229---219-----210-----------9

So far, so good! I've been stoked this last couple of weeks to be back and forth higher and lower than my husband (he was sleeved a year before me); as his weight bounces between 219 and 225, and mine has steadily crept down, I'm "this close" to achieving my goal of finally weighing less than my husband permanently--I already weigh less than him, but he's prone to up-and-down weight a lot more than I am, so I need a couple more pounds just to seal the deal. But it's happening!!!

I haven't weighed in the 210's since graduate school, and I am 100% thrilled!!!

Good luck everyone! Let's keep up the good work!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
