KristinaRN 54 Posted August 31, 2011 I know most of us have guidelines we follow regarding calorie, carb, and Protein amounts, but what about fat? My surgeon recommends just watching calories and keeping protein over 60 gm/day. I was just curious if anyone watches their fat intake as well. Thanks! Lakelady 2 Posted August 31, 2011 Nope! The post-op food intake was so low-cal it really didn't matter. If you get 60 gram of Protein in-you won't be able to eat anything else!
Stacy160 201 Posted August 31, 2011 Nope! Just carbs, calories, and Protein.
Khy 16 Posted August 31, 2011 Sadly yes... My doc requires us to track calories (800/day). Carbs ( under 50/day), Protein(80-90/day) and fat (3 or less grams/serving of whatever we are eating). Khy
Indymom 132 Posted September 1, 2011 No requirement here, but I plan to watch it either way. Much as I'd love to get all my Protein from bacon, sausage and Peanut Butter, something tells me that might NOT be the best course of action.
Adri 40 Posted September 1, 2011 Nope! Just carbs, calories, and Protein. Ditto! But I seem to be naturally eating more lean meats and low fat dairy as they just sit better in my sleeve.
Nancy Rivers 24 Posted September 2, 2011 My requirements are at least 60 g of Protein per day, foods that are under 5g of fat or 10g of SUGAR are acceptable. No requirements for carbs or calories. My dietician this week told me that is for life (I was thinking just for a few months after surgery).
