NewMe86 0 Posted August 30, 2011 So I'm on my 2nd day of my 2 week diet, which includes SF Jello and SF ice pops and 3 disgusting Bariatric Advantage Meal Replacement Protein drinks(only Protein Drinks my doctor allowed)...I'm excited because I'm that much closer to my surgery date BUT on the other hand I'm sooooo hungry... Y-day on day one I cheated and had one cup of lettuce and a sprinke of dressing... I was wondering is this ok to do? I can not imagine going on for 12 days like this. I know how important this is but I'm super hungry and tired!!
janinemaire 7 Posted August 30, 2011 wow that does seem very strict. I didn't have to diet until 2 days before my surgery and I could barely stand that. I'm wondering why you can't try different Protein drinks, is it because this is something your doctor sells in his office? If not I would call the office and say you need to try different Protein drinks something you will like. I'm sure lettuce with a drop of dressing is not going to make a difference. I know its hard but after you recover from the surgery your going to feel better than you have in a long time. So if this is what your doctor wants you to do now do your best and know things will get better. Good luck! LCS 21 Posted August 31, 2011 I had to diet for 1 week prior to surgery. I drank Unjury Protein drinks, which my doc said is one of the best, and best tasting too. If you have 2 weeks of this strict diet, at least drink a Protein Drink that doesn't make you gag. I was also permitted some yogurt, (sugar free of course) and some fat free cottage cheese. Call and ask your doctor if you can have some of these. Sometimes when you call, they allow you to add. It can't hurt. Good luck . I found the preop diet to be the most difficult part of this journey. But, it too will pass.
