eceteacher 0 Posted August 29, 2011 Hello fellow sleevers. I am 12 days out from surgery and doing great. My only problem is I am not exercising yet, nor do I think I am up to it. I do take short walks everyday and I mean short. I do my everyday activities, but by this time of day I am beat. I cannot imagine adding exercise to it. Will it get better? That is a rhetorical question because I know the more I lose the better I will feel. Can you motivate me? Not sure where I am on my weight loss yet because I am determined not to let the scale get me down. I can tell in my clothes and I can tell by how I feel. Indymom 132 Posted August 29, 2011 How is your Protein intake? I started my Protein on day 4 and have maintained at least 70-75 grams of protein daily (and sometimes more). I feel like that's really helped my energy level, I started walking around the block as soon as I was home and now, 18 days out I am walking a TON. I did about a mile and a quarter yesterday (at a brisk pace) and tonight I did close to 2 miles. Once you start walking more it will make you feel really good . . . I am loving it! Ibejjo 47 Posted August 29, 2011 Those first couple of weeks I didn't exercise either. I started out slowly adding exercise about week 3. I was tired but I knew I needed to exercise so I just did it. Don't give your self an option, make exercise mandatory like showering. It's just something you gotta do and if you find something you like doing then it won't seem so bad. I have fallen in love with running but I mix my workout up with spinning, Zumba, DVD's, running and lifting weights.
lsereno 2,525 Posted August 29, 2011 I walked for the first six weeks then went back to working out with a trainer. I was pooped early out and just tried to walk 4-5 days per week, slowly building up to a walk of 2-3 miles at least twice a week and at least 1/2 mile to a mile a couple of days per week. I've seen a lot of people do a lot more, but I just didn't feel up to it. Lynda
