As I sit here trying to get this Isopure down so I can get my Protein I wonder HOW can I make this taste better??

If I mix this with some Cranberry juice or another type of juice does it dilute the Protein? ? I'm thinking make it taste better AND get my protein in. Sorry if this is a "silly" question.

I've only lost 11lbs since my surgery on Aug 17th and after reading posts I think maaaaybe its because I wasn't getting any Protein before. I was also not drinking 64oz of Water. Sooooo I'm trying to "step my game up" now. However since I'm technically still on liquids I'm trying to figure out HOW to get 60grams. Enter ... ISOPUKE it has 40g in each 20oz bottle. So NOW I just have to figure out how to get this down.

Any suggestions???

I liked the grape flavor too I mixed in a grape flavor crystal light to help the taste. Also keep it cold.

I relate too. I can't get down this Isopure. I want to drink it, but it's so awful. powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury and Syntrax nectar are OK, but the texture is wrong. Sometimes these drinks set off my gag reflux.

I feel bad because I've been getting my calories on this liquid diet from mainly carbs, not Protein. I drink 100% fruit juice (which is high in sugar, but at least it's natural) and milk (that I mix with Protein supplements). I'm still in the 400-600 calorie range daily, at least. I know I'm probably setting myself up for failure, but liquid carbs are so much easier to drink than this Liquid Protein stuff. I think once I can actually eat again, I'll be able to have more protein.

I must be strange, but I actually like Isopure. I would use it to get all of my Protein but the cost is prohibitive. I do like it VERY cold. I don't think diluting it would reduce the amount of protein as long as you drink the whole bottle. I also drink Protein Shakes made with whey protein. They do have a lot of calories, but my doc says I am losing just fine, so I am sticking with them,

People mix it with all sorts of stuff to change the taste. As long as you are able to drink the whole bottle, it doesn't matter what you put in it.

You may want to get some samples of the Sytrex nectar. People do seem to like it much better. You can get a whole sample selection online. If you go to the food section, there is a thread on where to get samples of a lot of different kinds of Protein samples.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will DEF be spiking my Isopure today! It has a very weird taste and smell to it. It makes me want to throw up every time I lift the bottle for a sip.

I may not be very popular in saying this, but I never was able to meet my Protein requirements during liquids for this reason. All Protein liquids made me sick. I couldn't even smell them. I spent the first 2 weeks drinking full sugar gatorade (diluted), Water, iced tea (unsweetened), and some Soup broth - no protein. As soon as I was cleared for full liquids I started drinking liquid yogurt, kefir, and milk. I didn't really come close to my protein requirement until I was able to eat chicken and cottage cheeese, and even then it was a small amount.

Really focus on your hydration right now - that is the most important thing. Get liquids in and then do your best with the protein. You might want to dilute the Isopure 50/50 with Water and see if that helps.

Don't worry about the weight, it will come off either way.

This post is actually kind of comforting, seeing how successful you've been. I can't get close to my goal of 60-70g of protein a day on my liquids diet, and I would hate to sabotage my own weight loss. This is another reason why I look forward to eating again in less than 2 weeks! I can start mushies this Friday! :Banane42:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
